Sorry Dad.

For any others that have this happen, the final sequence that seemed to initiate the dying e-ink was a restart following the installation of Overdrive Media Console and Netflix. Everything was dandy up until the restart...

... well, except that the e-ink started leaving the last thing open up on the screen when I hibernated or shut down. This happened for a few weeks, and it was either my wallpaper or a page from a book that was up when it happened.

Come to think of it, I shut down with a book open (which I never do - I typically exit all docs and apps before I do a restart) when it happened.

So, be this a cautionary tale or the vital clues that will help some digital cavalier solve the puzzle and save the day, I hope SOMEONE gets something of worth out of this mess.

I'll be golden-ing and ermine-ing tonight I guess. I'll miss the market access and the native gmail app, but if I have to do this a THIRD time, I'll likely just chunk the d*mn thing out the window.
