line spacing and margin controls

I was hoping that T1 would allow you typographic controls that are found in Kobo and Nook: line spacing and margins control. It's not that big of a problem because all the books I bought so far have margins that fills up to the left and right with the screen, which is that I like (unlike the Nook which leaves around a 1/2 in. margin around all the sides). Unfortunately, a lot of the library books are weirdly formatted and leaves 1/2 in. left and right margins.

Does anyone know why T1 can't have margin and line spacing control and Nook and Kobo do? Is it because it's using an old version of Adobe Digital Edition? FWIW, it's interesting that iBook doesn't have that either.

Does rooting the T1 and installing certain reading apps give line spacing and margin controls?
