My wife works at a major supermarket chain (Woolworths) and the carols and songs over the sound system in the shop start around mid November. By Christmas she cannot stand any of 'em at all.
I must admit though, even though we have summer during Christmas, I still do enjoy the "classics" that I grew up with, Bing Crosby, et al.
