It has disappointed me, and others. Will a lot of people buy it? Sure. The problem for Amazon will be if Nook provides some of those missing elements. That is why they were successful before against the Kindle. They had a SD card slot, and other things.

If Nook comes along and has in its took-kit those items, then that will allow Nook to encroach into the Kindle sales, which so far, if I might remind you, for the Fire, are "pre" sales.
I can see a lot of cancellations or returns occurring.

Have you preordered your Fire?

Oh, by the way, I returned that faulty compass and got one without the bubbles. My friend Amazon always comes through.
