I assume, though, that somewhere down the line the ebook had been purchased. I get the sense that this is how the pirate community works. Someone will buy something and then share it, and they'll do so knowing others are doing the same. It's sort of a "what goes around, comes around" kind of thing.
Again, that was my point as well. I'm really not sure why you took exception to my post, since it seems we actually agree on this topic.

I wasn't taking exception to your post. In fact the reference to the ignore
list was more to the fact that we share that point, it was just that I thought
that I had been making it a number of times since page one of this thread. I
guess it was an expression of frustration on my part, for my lack of impact
with those earlier posts.
To the extent that there may be a "pirate community" I guess what they
would strive to be, would be the kind of real pirates that are able to create
ebooks from very popular books prior to their release in pbook form. Once
a viable copy is out there it gets spread around and there is little incentive
for a real Pirate to duplicate what another pirate has done. It would make
sense, to us, to wait until the official ebook release then remove the DRM,
to do our Piracy, but by that time there would be some other Pirate gloating
over their much earlier booty.
The Harry Potter series has not yet been released in ebook form and yet
they have been available on the net for years.
Sorry, for any misunderstanding.
Luck;
