I'm so happy to see so many folks considering it.
I've participated in NaNoWriMo since 2002, and it's always a ton of fun, regardless of how much work I actually get done. It's all about giving yourself permission to just write whatever, which I sometimes have trouble doing.
That reminds me, though, I gotta stock up on coffee and junk food...fortifications and all...
