But I wouldn't go on the Kindle forum and start bad-mouthing a device I have no experience with. I have my own reasons for choosing a Sony over a Kindle (I don't like closed systems, for one thing), but no way would I go on a Kindle forum and start a thread about how horrible it is.

That's just rude.

Apparently a few people here disagree - which is your right. But it's also my right to point out when I believe someone is acting trollish.
Frankly no matter how many times I read vxf's thread I dont see bad-mouthing. I see an articulate post, not rude, not offensive, and certainly not starting a thread about how horrible it is, at least in the sense that you're implying. And accusing someone of trolling is pretty serious and totally uncalled for in this situation. I would say harassing him in that thread, constantly making oblique references to him in other threads, in and out of this forum, dropping little gems like saying all the threads (multiple) have been created by someone who doesn't own a t1, and refusing to acknowledge or answer his very true point that he made one thread, not multiple, makes you the person who leaves a bad taste in my mouth. An opinion is one thing. Constantly attacking a user who has not done anything to deserve it, and not providing any support for your attacks against him other than stuff you seem to blatantly exaggerate or make up.. Well, I'd say take a deep breath, reread his post, and quit acting like people can't have concerns over reports of instability. I love my 505 but I don't feel the need to act like Sony can do no wrong and anyone who says so must be trolling. I'm sorry but your attitude seriously repulses me.

ETA: and it is NOT just someone who doesnt own a T1 who is greatly exaggerating the problems. In fact many people have told you that owners are having problems. Vxf's thread was inquiring whether all these reported problems (which he did not make up, nor did he state that he had such problems, he stated up front that he does not own a T1 but the reports were worrying him) changed people's views on Sony. Well, for me, it does. at least to the extent that I'm not willing to buy a T1 until a firmware upgrade solves the problem for the MANY people who are reporting the problem. It may of course be exaggerated to some extent and maybe the sample we have does not represent even a tenth of the users. still, compare this to the Kindle forums where people aren't reporting freezing. My 505 doesn't freeze, except on poorly formatted or otherwise problematic books. I don't intend on jumping on the T1 wagon before I hear the problem is acknowledged and addressed by Sony. This doesn't make me a troll. Just because I don't own the T1 doesn't mean I can't read reviews.
