Yeah, I'm not a fan of racing to products for Black Friday. Can't get me to stand out in the cold and I hate crowds. I scored last year with online ordering from JC Penney's for boots on Thursday and Friday. Had a few time outs on the web site from traffic, but managed to mostly get the ones I wanted. I imagine it's worse for electronics!
As for the Velocity ... you find more bad than good reviews out there. Sorry to see it get tossed, though.
Scion - sounds like my stepdad. Gross, but we had to get sneaky about throwing away his holey socks and underwear, because he'd dig them out! ::shudder::
