wvcherrybomb, I also live in the middle of nowhere (although waaaaay further north!) and I too wanted the Kindle Touch with 3G for that reason. But when I discovered the limits of it I cancelled the order. I'll just stick with my K3 with the keyboard.
I wish Amazon could find a way to offer some kind of unlocked 3G for those of us in this situation - either a monthly charge, a bundle with their Prime membership (even at a higher Prime rate) - something. I'd love one of the Touch Kindles. =/
