i have an eb1150, which if i've understood correctly is more or less the same *hardware* as the GEB 1150 but quite different in software. check the
wiki (link at the top left of the page) for specific information, there are pages there giving lots of information about both of these devices. there is also
a thread comparing the 2. i love my eb1150 (although personally i wish it *weren't* backlit

), and i would recommend it to you in a second as a replacement for your GEB, however i'm not sure about the format compatibility.
the good news is, ETI (who make the eb1150) are working on a new version of the eb1150 with an e-ink screen. they know that a lot of their current users love the backlight, so i'm not positive, but i think they are looking for a solution to that in the e-ink model. you can read more about that by looking at
this thread and also following the link near the end.
