What OS are you running?

If it is Linux then go here and follow the instructions to do a binary install of the current version of calibre. The binary install as described is the only Linux version supported.

If you are using any other OS then update the version of calibre, the version you list is 21 versions out of date (Release: 0.8.2 [20 May, 2011]) and more than 5 months behind the curve.

Let us know if the updated version is still causing you problems.
