We're coming, we're coming, our brave little band
On the right side of temperance we do take our stand
We don't use tobacco, because we do think
The people who use it are likely to drink
Away, away with rum by gum, with rum by gum, with rum by gum
Away, away with rum by gum, the song of the temperance union
We never eat fruit cake because it has rum
And one little taste turns a man to a bum
Oh, can you imagine a sorrier sight
Than a man eating fruit cake until he gets tight
We never eat cookies because they have yeast
And one little bite turns a man to a beast
Oh, can you imagine a sadder disgrace
Than a man in the gutter with crumbs on his face

Good morning, everyone! Happy Tuesday! Steaming mug of high mountain Uva to go along with my rice and miso soup today! Cloudy skies... I wonder if it's going to rain?

Yes, the doctors have forbidden me alcohol for a week following my surgery. I have to wait until Thursday before I may imbibe. No great problem... Although I enjoy a glass in the evening, it's not something I crave. There are times when for no particular reason I might go a month or two without any alcoholic beverages. Just as the mood strikes me. I won't say that about tea though... Even the thought of going without good tea is frightening!

Oh, what a terribly accurate statement. Especially the ones who say "I need that article and photo yesterday. I probably won't tell you where and what to shoot for another few days, but I really need the finished copy 6 hours ago." As my frequent sudden disappearances from here can attest, I get this often from my editors!
