I can share my experience as a "Road Warrior"... I have traveled with my Kindle and passed it in all kinds of scanners in the worst airports and it has survived. I recently visited Sao Paulo in Brasil and my Kindle 3 didn't have an issue. I use the official and standard Cover without light.
