Before you go off and do something you will regret

Do a (whole computer) search for metadata.db (on the desktop computer ). NB: If you have set your Library folder as hidden (to keep from doing damage), be sure to enable the Advanced search "...in Hidden" option.

The results are possible locations of a Calibre Library.
Right-click on each in turn: Select "open containing folder" and see if there are (the expected) Author folders in the same location.

That may be where your Active Library was. Use the arrow on the Library Icon in Calibre to 'Create/Switch Library' to that folder.
