Image requirements for Apple Itunes store

I am wondering if anybody has had any idea what the minimum image requirements are for the Apple Store. I have been having some problems getting any clear parameters.
According to the Publisher User Guide:
  • If a cover art file has one of the following problems, it will be removed from sale.
  • ƒƒWrong cover art attached (that is, the title on the cover doesn’t match the metadata)
  • ƒPoor quality cover art (for example, blurry, pixelated, et cetera)
  • ƒCover art is too small (that is., it isn’t a minimum of 600 pixels in the larger dimension)
  • ƒContains advertisements or links to competitor’s sites or competitor’s products
  • ƒMentions included materials that don’t exist in digital product (for example, CD, poster, and so on)
  • ƒUp-selling from the current title to a more complete version of the product
  • ƒContains prices

So it tells us the Cover Image should be min 600px but doesnt say at what resolution - is it 72, 150, 300. I would always have kept the images at their smallest file size t keep the file size down, but these are being rejected by Itunes.

Also what is the correct way to insert/Format an image in to your epub, so that when you tap it on the ipad, it zooms in to larger image?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts/advice
