If all the OP wants is to move the books that she has in her old library (with no notes or annotations) to her T1, then the new Sony PC software will get the job done. However, if she wants to have greater flexibility, then I say Calibre would be the program of choice, It is so easy to set up, yet has enough power to do whatever one wants to do with library management,

Amyb, as Kate said, your old Sony software will not work with the T1. That could be why it is still in data transfer mode as it sees nothing to transfer.
