I'll accept what you say about the publishing industry. It's interesting to learn, and I know little about the business. Let's say, then, that the proofing costs continue to be "$750-$3500 or more." It doesn't change the most important point, which we seem to agree on: if a business sells an e-book for $7.99 or more, that e-book should get the same proof-reading treatment that its paper counterpart receives.
