Yep you can update the word count daily during the month and at the months end I believe there is a feature that opens up for total verification of your word count. One thing I have noticed though is that the count of words during the month can vary depending on what word processor program you use. So it's best to go well over the 50k mark if possible since what you think your count is and what it might read as during the final week (for verification) might not match up. That is you might think you have 50,018 words for example and the verification might find that you only have 49,870 or something.
