My dad took the MC-lisence at age of 56 and is still both alive and driving MC. He's reached well over 60, and noe accidents or incidents.

Actually, I think you're right . Bought my 1st motorcycle when I was 34. I never had that desire for high speed on a bike, but at 34 and married I think you asses danger better than if you are 20 something. The macho man spirit is dormant, lol.
I don't have children but I would never authorize a kid younger than 20 to ride one. Group pressure is too strong. You end doing stupid things.
For sport touring like mine, a fz6r, I do recommend being in good fit or younger than 60. No offense, but need good back and arm muscles to have a nice control. I know a coworker thought, that has a litter bike and he is on his 60s though. Great rider! But he's in good shape, maybe better than me and strong guy.
