Hi from a fellow Canadian...

I've been reading through this thread (admittedly not
every page) as I've been considering getting a tablet. I have a Sony, and love it, but now would like something that displays color since I'm an illustrator by day. (and have a love for cookbooks, and recipes with color photos are awesome to read, and artbooks in color are sweet). The Kindle Fire is out of the question for me, being in Quebec, and I'm not sure I like the idea of being chained to Amazon in any case...
I haven't seen the Kobo Vox mentioned. Is anyone considering it? Those who have a Kobo already, is it a good company? Their ad for the Vox seems very user-friendly, and it seems you can install the amazon reader thing onto it - is that so? Seems you can read tons of books, watch movies, have music, email, social thingies, etc....
