I was disappointed in the nexus. I expected it to be a combination of ice cream sandwich plus the current top specs. However, it doesn't appear to live up to its own GII in some respects (though it does top it in others).

I am more impressed by the new Motorola. The battery life is especially impressive. However, NFC is clearly important to Androids direction and they choose to pass on it. Plus, of course, the fact that by the time they get ICS, it will be nearly time for jellybean.

I'm pretty comfortable with the thought that any phone that I buy will be "beat" within a short time by something better. After all, I am still comfortably using my HTC Hero. However, because I know I will have to live with it for a few years, I am interested in the fewest compromises possible at the moment I buy.
