Cybmole, i do not understand very well all your words, due to my bad english, but i encounter certain sarcastic humor. I fodder that this does not contribute to the intention of the forum and the Post. I hope to i be mistaken and only have a bad translation of your commentaries. After all we are in this forums betwen much people loving of the reading and of books, just like us, and the commentaries they would have to demonstrate what we have learned with them. Apologies if i bothered with some commentary.
Okey, the point, i feed a digital library in the local secondary school, im volunteer. But some books are old publications whose date of original publication is very previous to much more which Sigil can give, I have already put them manually without needing sigil and I can continue it doing, and Calibre E-book management does also without problems.
Then it would be necessary to well clearly know the concepts of the fields of metadatos in ebooks, in this case the date of publication.
Quote:
Wikipedia: The date of publication is the date the published material became generally available.

Yes, i believe that Dublin Core Standard give too much light to clarify. Mainly because it is the base of the modern digital libraries and the semantic Web.
Good tip shall1028, the change of juliano calendar by gegoriano can be a good reason.
