I agree that it's not the customer's problem if the update is difficult, my point was that it may not necessarily be "a matter of a simple tweak", as howyoudoin suggested. The thread you linked to appears to suggest that it's possible to run the v3.x firmware on a K2 and a DX. That says nothing about the quality of the v2.x code.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this particular issue. I don't think any manufacturer has an obligation to provide updates beyond bug fixes for any equipment, whether it's currently sold or not. That said, it does seem a bit rubbish that they've provided this for some current models and not others.

I am curious about one thing, though. As a K3 owner, there are two parts to this update. Right now, personal documents appear in the "Manage your Kindle" part of the Amazon website, and I can use that to send them to my Kindle. When my Kindle gets the update, I'll be able to get them via my Kindle. Do K2 and DX owners get personal documents archived? If not, what happens if you have a K3 and a K2 or DX?
