I've not seen any Android interactive books...

You can create an html document with links and send it to a Kindle... Which makes me wonder if you'd be able to write some kind of javascript calculator that would sit in that "document" that would function properly without having to be "online" to have it fire, thus possibly allowing you to create a random array of equations for the reader to solve to apply what they've read/learned.
