Early graphite models (including mine) had problems with the lettering on the keys coming off. I had mine replaced because of cracks on the bezel and I noticed the ink on the keys were greatly improved on the replacement.
There were also rumors about the graphite models overheating under the direct sun, although this was never confirmed.
The white model did not have any of those problems.
