Nothing wrong with the Fuze+. It's just that I've been out of the Rockbox loop for so long that I don't know the progress that they've made with Fuze+, so I didn't want to recommend it. But, I do know the original Fuze is good to go with Rockbox.

Say what? You cannot compare an mp3 player to a cell phone. Apples and oranges, friend. Suggesting a smartphone to the OP who has stated he/she wants an mp3 player (and wouldn't mind video support) is complete overkill; it is also an expensive suggestion (re: phone contract).

OP never said he/she wanted web browsing, touchscreen, apps, camera, or cell phone. Check the list in the first post. Reading comprehension is fundamental.
