Looks like upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04 hosed my calibre installation.

Seems to have overwritten my latest version and installed the packaged version (0.8.8), which failed with the error message below, then I ran: "apt-get remove calibre", then reinstalled the latest version with the linux code on the calibre install page. Still the same error below:

calibre, version 0.8.22
ERROR: No internet connection: Cannot download news as no internet connection is active

But clearly I do have an active internet connection. Anyone have any idea where I should start to try to fix it?
