Unfortunately, it didn't make sense to me.
Are you asking about converting to another format? The basic process is to start with a book in calibre, then convert it. You don't need to get an old version removed. It shouldn't be trying to "add" any book. What is the "other book" - the original format?

More info is needed to help you.
