I've found that nothing beats moving every two to three years to keep any collecting habits I might have under control. CDs, books, clothing, everything takes a beating when you evaluate the effort and cost to physically move something.

As pdurrant said, if it has no sentimental value and it isn't being used, it's gone. Gone I say. It's nice to have a wonderful collection of books, but how many can you say you would actually ever get around to re-reading?
