Handbrake.
It's easy, it's simple, and it's not fast ... basically doing the conversion in real time. i.e. a 90min movie takes 90min to convert.
Some countries believe this software is illegal .... hence no link. try googling. if the URL ends with
.fr, then you're pretty good.
