I joined last year - perhaps they have changed their policy since then?
It's a very good library but the waiting lists have increased over the past year and frustratingly you can only waitlist 2 books at a time. I only ever waitlist books I can't get from my other libraries.
I have no idea why it was originally open to everyone for free but it does make sense to restrict the membership or charge those who don't live in Singapore.
Sorry you missed out but I will enjoy it while I can.
Where in Australia do you live? We have a number of good libraries here.
