For myself, no big deal, except I don't have a case for mine yet. However, my sons will each be getting one for Christmas - they'll need screen protectors just because they're still young enough to want to touch it no matter what I say: ) They are extra careful with mine 'cause they know they're toast if they mess up moms books : )
It is good to hear the screen is not susceptible to scratches. I know my boys tho - they're getting screen protectors.
