The short answer is that right now you cannot read B&N books on the Sony WiFi, but that may possibly change once ADE 1.8 is released.

According to Sony's website, their Reader for PC/Mac software (which is the desktop software that goes with the Sony WiFi) is running RMSDK 9.1. One can only guess that means Sony WiFi is also running 9.1, but that's not confirmed. 9.1 means that if Sony wanted to, they could program their readers to open B&N books, but they have chosen not to include this feature.

However, if Sony WiFi is running 9.2 instead of 9.1, then depending on what Adobe does with the next release of ADE, it may be possible to transfer a B&N book to the Sony WiFi using ADE as a go-between. In other words, ADE 1.8 Preview can already open B&N books. If we're lucky, the final version of ADE 1.8 will also be able to transfer B&N books to the Sony WiFi. But we won't know until ADE 1.8 is released.
