I dunno.
Amazon starting a tiny genre imprint (15 books a year) just to make a point?

I'm a fan of Occam's razor myself.
I just think there is money to be made tapping into established authors' discontent with the old school publishers and where there is money to be made, there you'll find Amazon. No hidden agenda required.
