I was going to suggest that same thing, but then I remembered the OP was concerned primarily with PDF's (or at least that's the impression I got). I thought it rather unlikely that the default app for PDF's (on most computers) would be K4PC. That's why I chose to focus on the "manual method" to cover all the bases.
