While the use of They as a gender neutral singular pronoun is commonly used, in proper grammer is not correct.

In business writing you should use he/she or him/her or you may (in a longer document) use he and she (or him and her) making sure that each is used the same amount (10 he and 10 she).

And as language is a living, growing, changing thing, this may change at some point.
