TWO COMPLAINTS

1) I've been seeing too many people wearing Spandex!!! AND IT'S GIVING ME NIGHTMARES!

In reality, VERY few people that wear Spandex should. Over the past few days I've seen too much flab and too many hanging guts & butts. If I see much more I'll have to poke my eyes out.

2) The recent stories on vitamins making people die sooner.

Not to offend those who take a dozen vitamins three or four times a day, but this isn't an era where our food sources are severely limited and we're not getting most of the vitamins that we need.

I'll freely concede that many may have vitamin/nutritional needs that aren't fulfilled due to age, dietary, and medical circumstances.

But I doubt that most of the billions of dollars spent on vitamins are really needed.

So what's my rant all about?

There was a study reportedly covering 39,000 women between the age of 55 and 69. It started 19 years ago. Those still living are now between 75 and 88.

Of all those old people taking multivitamins 2.5% may have died earlier than statistics says that they should have.

THATS 2.5%.

In a group of anybody of that age that's statistically insignificant. But I keep seeing story after story about how vitamins are bad for you!

The study has not said that the death of ANY individual was directly traced to taking multivitamins. It is ALL just statistics.

Bad science is bad science. Period.

I think I'll go take two multivitamins and cool off.
