I think Calibre is awesome. I was very excited when I discovered it three days ago. It has worked wonderfully for me except that it will not detect my PRS 300 Sony Reader.

I have tried pretty much everything I have read to try here and on other sites.

Plug-ins? All there...just checked again.

I have unistalled and re-installed both Sony Reader Library and Sony for PC twice. I have Sony Reader set not to open when I attach my PRS-300. What I have realized is that with the Sony programs on my computer, Calibre never recognizes my device. If I uninstall the programs, then in Calibre, I get an error that states that the attempt to connect to my device has failed.

I have also re-set my device twice.

I have even tried starting Calibre with my device attached and starting Calibre and then attaching my reader. Nothing has worked.

I ran the de-bug you mentioned. Here are the results:
