I was surprised that trying to update to .9.N from .5.N caused an error, because surely I've rebooted the darn thing more than a few times since that .5.N install. Undoubtedly a reboot, then upgrading to .9.N, would've worked and saved me the time it took to uninstall everything, but that thought didn't occur to me until after I did the uninstall.
Come to think of it, I'm surprised the uninstall worked without a reboot.
Ah well, I'm updated now, and will leave it alone (until, undoubtedly, the next FW update Amazon pushes out, heh).
