Hmm, I thought "karma" was simply a measure of a deliberate action, positive or negative, that respectively affected one's future trips 'round samsara. I've assumed that a "high score" could just as equally mean you're one evil, bad mother^&*%er deserving of rebirth as a Demodex phylloides nesting in the arsecrack of Star Jones (and that's if I'm good - mate, that Star Jones is one HOT!-looking dude!).
