What you can do if static works for you, is set your DHCP server to start serving numbers at .10...(for example) this will give you .1-.9 for devices you want to have static IPs. For example, other routers, WAPs, printers, and of course your iLiad. This way you get the benefit of DHCP and still can use static on some devices.
