Luckily I can deal with pain quite well, my main worry is the anaesthetic, but since he listens to his patients I'm not really afraid of it.

I think you will do fine!

My two upper wisdom teeth are already taken out, that where I got the very bad experience. My old dentist didn't believe me when I told him the anaesthetic wasn't working. When after the extraction his assistant told him that due to my reaction she believed that I was correct he got angry with me that I didn't tell him, during the extraction (!), that it hurt.

After those two were taken out I had a lot less problems with jaw pain and ear problems. I still have lower jaw pain occasionally, especially when I'm stressed) so I'm very happy they're going to be taken out and hopefully that will be the next thing that's going to be done after the root canal.

He was very careful to break the news about the extractions and gave me the choice to have him do it or have them extracted surgically. I opted for the first choice, I trust him enough the believe it when he says he can do it. As I said, I'm not afraid of some pain, the main problem with my old dentist was that he didn't communicate, didn't have any people skills and that after several incidents I didn't trust him any more.

Also, my new dentist is quite cute, which also helps .
