Not all chargers are created equal, unfortunately.
So while a charger has a USB port on it, it won't always charge all devices that charge over USB. I am not even sure what minor detail in the device and charger cause the incompatibility.
I've got a dual-USB charger that only charges a couple of things, but my iPhone charger seems to handle everything.
