Listen... both of you...
There is no reason to fear the 'dentist.' It's the 'person' who's causing you the problems, not the work. When you buy a dress, you don't only visit one store and settle for what ever they have, do you? No, you try a few different stores to locate what you are happy with. It's the same with doctors and dentists, lawyers and chefs!

My father was an oral surgeon. He did all my dentistry when I was a kid. AND I HATED GOING TO THE DENTIST! He was skilled, but he had a very heavy hand.

But after moving away as an adult I discovered that dentistry didn't have to be painful. I found gentle dentists who's sessions, while not 'fun,' at least were not torture! I still have to 'shop' for good care, but now I've found a gentle AND skilled dentist, and a doctor and hospital that I'm satisfied with, even a lawyer that I think isn't trying to pad his bank account with my money. My dentist is more worried about causing pain than I am to experience it. I like that in a dentist!

Shop for medical care the same way you shop for everything; do NOT settle for less than what you want!
