I never thought that that bad experience left such an impression on me that I'm actually scared to go now. I know that, besides the filling, quite some things need to be done. Personally I wouldn't mind it if they tell me I need to get dentures! My teeth never looked nice, missing some in my upper jaw (never had them) and not enough space in my lower jaw (probably also the cause of some current problems).

I'm not expecting to get much sleep tonight.
I don't know if this will help, but I feel the same way about the dentist. I hadn't been to the dentist in 6 or 7 years following a bad experience. Not terribly bad, mind you, but bad enough that I didn't want to go back for a long time. I finally went back when I chipped my tooth badly to get it fixed, and I was very nervous before going. Going wasn't pleasant, but it didn't turn out to be as bad as I had thought in the end. I still don't like the dentist, and I understand exactly how you feel, but I think that it will go ok for you tomorrow. I will be crossing my fingers for you!
