Have you heard of a ship called the good Reuben James
Manned by hard fighting men both of honor and fame?
She flew the Stars and Stripes of the land of the free
But tonight she's in her grave at the bottom of the sea.
Well, a hundred men went down in that dark watery grave
When that good ship went down only forty-four were saved.
'Twas the 14th of October we saved the forty-four
From the cold ocean waters and the cold icy shore.
Tell me what were their names, tell me what were their names,
Did you have a friend on the good Reuben James?
What were their names, tell me, what were their names?
Did you have a friend on the good Reuben James

My poor musical brain must be tuned to the calendar to wake up with this one!!
Good morning, all! Cloudy skies and cold winds mean we must really be past summer. The rice paddies are all getting cut by whole families trying to get the rice in before the storms arrive this weekend. The fields still standing are absolutely golden in color with mature rice. This is really going to be a bumper harvest!
Last night's dinner of pancetta-flavored garbanzo beans contributed to this morning's rice, but picking a tea to go with it was tough! The bean dish had a really strong flavor that would overpower most teas. I took the wimpy way out and opted for a double dose of Twinings "Prince of Wales" tea. Strong tea without subtle flavors. Just 'punch' enough to be recognized over the pancetta and tomatoes. It works..
