Strong black tea to compensate the excesses of yesterday....

We had a birthday party for one of petite princesse's girlfriend, which here in Spain always includes the friends of the kid + parents (of the kid AND of the friends of the kid) + his brothers and sisters (of the kid AND of the friends of the kid) + grandparents (the same again).
The parties never begin before 5 pm.
We were at least 50 persons.

It was great

We had 4 different sorts of cake, plus a big birthday cake, all sorts of beverages (no Coke Zero, only light, yuck.... ), sandwiches, popcorn, chips, sweets, a sweets cake (barbecue wooden sticks packed with different kinds of Haribos sweets and marshmallows, all planted on soft biscuits parts to make it all look like a huge pyramid) plus an inflatable castle for the kids, plus a kids area with slides and so on.....And a pinata at the end of course !
Nice parents around too, so I got to speak with many of them. Petit prince did not want to stay first, but then he met some kids he knows from the bus and there he went, playing the whole time with them.
We went at 9 pm. We still had an hour to drive, but it was so warm (30°C) and nice, everyone is in the street in Spain at 9, so we took the car and drove to the beach. The hip icecream café was open, kids (teenagers) were having ice creams, so I parked the car and we went to have one too. Petit Prince felt terribly cool, I guess that will be his big story on Thursday (there is no school today, it is a bank holiday). Petite Princesse was just happy because they had Oreo ice as well as Choco 70% ice, which is just what she likes.
We then drove slowly back home along the coast, enjoying the view, the air....Petite Princesse fell asleep in the car of course, I had to carry her in her bed when we arrived, but she was smiling
We had a great evening ! I love seeing my kids that happy, because last year was difficult for them, leaving Germany and all their friends, but now they have integrated so well, I could see this yesterday, we felt so welcome there !
And a cake-sweets-icecream combo instead of a meal, now, how cool am I ?

S is arriving tonight, he'll be sorry he missed that !
PS: oh yes, I almost forgot: Petite princesse had a spanish test yesterday. She was the best in her class. The teacher came out when I picked the kids up before the party to tell me so. She said she is extremely proud of her, considering she did not speak spanish at all last year, and considering all the kids in her class are spanish native speaker. I am mighty proud too !
