Most, if not all, of HarryT's illustrations exceed this for the .prc versions he prepares.
Are you being cautious in your mobiperl coding or is there a problem with non-jpeg images being used?

Because I am following the specification. --imagerescale is only concerned with the actual size of the image and have nothing to do with the image data size in bytes.
I can understand that making changes in actual image size because of a bug in one reader is something you might not want to do. But I think it is wrong to produce MobiPocket books that cannot be read on a Palm device.
