I am definitely not an apple apologist but they had every right to sue that kid. The parts he was using to convert the phones to white had Apple logos on them. He was doing that without a license from Apple who is the trademark owner. Suing him was not only their right but also their obligation. had they not they risked loosing the ability to protect the Trademark in the future.
