Sync means exactly that. Everything on your computer software will be put on your reader exactly as it is on your computer. It's ok if you have a small number of books but a right royal PITA if you have a lot of them! I don't sync mine and life seems to be better. I haven't chucked my unit into the wall. It's still in one piece. lol
But that's not exactly correct. You don't need to sync EVERYTHING. You can un-check 'all books' and select specific folders to sync. I don't own a T1, but I have sync'd my 350 and 950 using the new software - and I was able to sync only some collections. As a matter of fact, whenever I tried to sync my entire library (about 1,200 epubs and about 200 PDFs), the software would just freeze.
